In fact I didn't tell you first, but afterward I suspected a problem with
the Office One V7 bureautic suite which is already installed and delivered
with my new PC. This because the message clearly involved a "more recent
version" and this is the only "Office" like software which is installed on
my PC. So searching a little more through Google on the topic "OpenOffice
OfficeOne compatibility" I found a forum on the Open Office site where
somebody describes exactly what happens to me. Some guies explain that
Office One V7 is developped and provided by the Issendis company from the
free Open Office editions and is not compatible with Open Office.org V2.3.
Office One V7 must be uninstalled first. I don't know for the moment if I
will do so and wich strategy I will adopt for bureautic (Open Office is
greatly recommended) but it is very probably the answer to the matter.

Sounds like the Microsoft "Windows Installer" problem. It happens often,
not just with OpenOffice. This will probably help:
