Andy, you don't mention the OS you are using, but could it be Vista ? The error message you are receiving seems to be related to permissions issues ; presumably you will be able install the programme package if you run your account as an Adminstrator, rather than as an ordinary user. Try doing so and see if it helps - and don't forget to change the account settings back to user after installling OOo for the added security they provide.... Henri
