[users] can't remove Background bar

I use NeoOffice for all word documents.  Suddenly today a bar  
appeared on top of the blank text document page I use all the time,  
titled: Backgrounds-ice-light(applications/NeoOffice.app/contents  
etc.  The screen or bar shows different page background shades.  I  
cannot remove that bar or screen, and as long as it appears on my  
screen, I cannot retrieve my file. If you can call, I can be reached
