When calc opens, it opens its default template as well, so what you need to do is to make your own template and then make it your default template. This is described in several threads on this list, but a good way to start is to click File → Template. Maybe something there will be useful, for example Save template and Administrate templates (or whatever the options are called in English, I have Swedish version). J.R.
