I'm so glad that you are enjoying your computer. As one elderly lady to
another, welcome to freedom!

But may I make some suggestions? You don't say what kind of mess you get
yourself into, that needs sorting out every two months, but by the standards
over here $350 is an awful lot of money.

If the "mess" is viruses, then yes, an iMac would avoid the problem to a large
extent. But it is not the only solution. And it is quite an expensive one.

Linux is another almost virus-free environment. You could get a geek to
install it for you. (I charge my clients $100 for doing just that, including
supplying on CD all the software I have used in the installation.) And
Walmart is now doing a computer running Linux for a much lower price than you
would pay for the iMac.

But you sound adventurous. If you fancy this idea or would simply like to
know more about it, or if you just want to discuss something geek related,
feel free to contact me either on or off-list.

Lisi
