Dear Sirs,

I have installed "Open Office" and created a paper. However,
when I try to "export" Latex .tex files for a small test case .doc or
my paper the export process aborts. I get a "cryptic message",
"Error saving the document "xxxx": Write Error The file could not
be written". ??????????

Same problem occurs with BibTex .bib files. PDF and .doc WORD
extensions among others work just fine..... What do you suggest ???
I include my exported .doc and .pdf files as proof. The input was
TEST03.doc attached as well.

You doc file didn't/won't make it through the list.

I wonder if your problem is related to this:

Hi-
I'm trying to play with an embedded bibliography. If I try to export
the bibliography, File>Export> filetype
bibtex, then it starts to save but then gives an error.
"Error saving the document. Write error. The file could not be written"
Other exports (PDF, LaTeX, XHTML) produce output files.

If so, then you might want to add to that bug and submit your test03.doc
there.

He sent the file, directly to me. Under OS X, the file exports just fine.

In reading the bug link you sent, from the description, it looks like that is the same issue that the OP is having.
