You're excused.

OpenOffice.org is, indeed, a free product. People who package OOo are allowed, 
under the terms of the license, to charge a fee. No one here controls that. 
We're just volunteers who try to help people who come to us with technical 
problems.

If you believe you have a defective product, you should contact your retailer 
or the auction site from which you purchased the software.
