You can configure the background and text colours:
Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> Appearance

There is also a high-contrast mode at:
Tools -> Options -> OpenOffice.org -> Accessibility

How is this mode enabled in Firefox, Tbird, and MS products? I use
Compiz-Fusion to reverse the screen colours sometimes to let my eyes
rest. I am a heavy Firefox and Thunderbird user. I don't use any MS
products, but I would still like to know.

What would be considered easy for you? I will file a bug and request
