Well, you described a couple of issues that have come and gone with Base
and Calc and the copy table wizard - So wondering which version of OOo
you are using and which flavor of Windows?
At one point, and I don't remember the version numbers the whole thing
was hosed, but fixed in the next minor release. Dates where a problem
for a while, but those are finally worked out properly. The latest
problem IIRCC was email addresses and hyperlinks causing a problem but
those are fixed also, I think.
Anyway depending on the version of OOo you have there are better and
worse ways to go.
