Hello Harold, I haven't left yet so I caught this email. Thank you for jumping in. The solution presented itself when a tech I know told me that everything had been "walled off" by the recovery process. He recovered my files for me but all programs and settings were behind that wall. I downloaded new printer drivers and it was all good. By point, I meant it most literally - point the mouse and click followed by the item clicked upon pointing to a function of the program. The problem of why it kept "Saving" was that it's only option was MS Image writer since my printer drives were gone. _http://java.com/en/desktop/openoffice.jsp_ (http://java.com/en/desktop/openoffice.jsp) This is the sun site where I found my version of Open Office. I got there after downloading Mozilla and some major plugins. Thanks again, Greg
