Problem solved! I did not realize that Report Builder was available
with adept. I just now installed it with Synaptic. I didn't even bother
to uninstall the one I previously downloaded from Sun. It works fine
now.

So the moral is, Ubuntians take heed: If you use OOo installed from
Synaptic or installed by the default installation of Ubuntu, then you
must install Report Builder from the Ubuntu repositories as well (i.e.,
use Synaptic to install it). Presumably if you installed OOo from the
OOo web site, then you'd need to install the Report Builder from Sun,
although I never tried that part because I am fine with the OOo that is
in the Ubuntu repositories.

The Report Builder is much better than the Wizard. I don't know why it
wasn't installed automatically.
