I use openoffice.org version 2.3. I can open Microsoft word documents without any problem, but when I try to open .pptx files (Microsoft 2007 powerpoint files) it just brings up a list of about 50 different software products. I tried clicking on OpenOffice project and I tried a few others, but it wouldn't load the file. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do ? Thanks for the help
That would be the new format from Microsoft Office 2007, which OpenOffice doesn't yet support. You'll have to arrange to have those files saved in an older format. Failing that, can get a free PowerPoint viewer from Microsoft, which should handle the new file formats.
