Yes. This is what I tested in SM2pre (news headers) - I tested using IP addresses for spam and it work well. Only problem I found is that there is no way (currently) to apply the filters to msg headers after the fact (headers that have already been read). You need to close, delete news .msf files and reopen - then the filter will work on all that you reopen/reread. So, what this means is that those of us that read/respond via the gmane news server will be able to filter on the unsubs (should we wish :-). I'll test with SM2pre later today or tomorrow.
