Can't search for "Delivered-To:" in Thunderbird newsgroup reader. I

You can be uncooperative and not do this if you wish.
Thunderbird is the most recommended email program to people asking for
email programs. Why should I change. Why can't OO.o fix the problem of
unsubscribed posters. They are the uncooperative ones.
FWIW: The next major release of SeaMonkey (SeaMonkey 2) and presumably
Thunderbird, as they both will use the same MailNews core, will have the
ability to filter on headers:
I thought they already could. I've been using header filtering in
Seamonkey for some time. I use it to change the message header colour.
How are you doing that? SM 1.1.x currently cannot filter on specific
headers in the newsreader - only in the email headers. The problem is
that many contributors to the list use the gmane nntp newsreader instead
of subscribing to the email list. This eliminates downloading tons of
emails from this list as well as others you are subscribed to. The
problem currently is that SM and TB cannot filter by defined headers -
required to determine if the poster is unsubscribed or not. Example,
header: Delivered-To, NNTP-Posting-Host etc. If you can do that with
yours I'd sure like to know how you are doing it.
I'm currently using 1.1.8, but have been doing this for much longer than
1.1.8 has been out. In the main mail window, click on Tools > Message
Filters and then create a new filter. In the match selections, choose
"Delivered-to" and "Contains" and place the desired text in the next
box. Then in the "Perform this action" box, chose "Tag message" and
pick whatever tag you wish. You can even create your own custom tags in
the Seamonkey preferences.
The text I filter on is "moderator for [email protected]" (without
quotes).
