Have you actually installed the software or only downloaded the installer program? In the folder on your desktop, is there a "setup.exe"? If so then you haven't installed OpenOffice yet. Run the "setup.exe"and, after you have made a few simple choices, you will find an entry "OPenOffice" in your Start>All Programs.
