I don't know what site you're referring to, but you don't have to pay
for OpenOffice. It is a free download from www.openoffice.org. Just
download (click on the link in the green box) and install the latest
version.
While OpenOffice is compatible with Windows 98, older computers might
not have sufficient resources to run it. Check the requirments page for
further information.
