Hello! I read great reviews of your product at the Warrior Forum. I
have been attempting to download the most current version from your
website, with no luck. First it tells me it will take between 15-16
hours to download. And, of course, before that happens, at about the
35% range, it flubs up somehow and stops. I am on an old, Win98SE
computer---NO Laughing, please! Plus I am located in a rural area
with dialup on very old analog lines, so my bps is very low/slow. Is
there a solution to my problem? It sounds like your product has
everything I need to succeed, if only I could get it! Any and all
help is greatly appreciated!! M. Kay
Win 98se was a good OS, so hopefully no one will laugh.
I still have one or two machines that were made for Win 98
and to not work well with Win 2000 or XP
A stupid question, but, what is the speed of your modem?
My Win 98 machine came with a 28.8k modem, not the 56k
version. If you have a 28.8k modem, I would go to www.tigerdirect.com
and get a new one. Hopefully you have a PCI slot open.
I use to live out in the "country" where all there is are
farms and woods. Nice for living, but not good for the
Internet.
Also you might have to talk to your phone company
to find out why you are having such a slow bit rate.
FCC requires accessibility to a certain level. My sister
had a pulse line and fought the company to get Tone service
since the FCC required it and even the phone company's
answering system required tone to use.
So check out your modem speed <control panel/modems>
Call the phone company to find out what it the bite rate
your line is rated for.
Also get a download manager like someone else said.
Dialup connection need them.
I even found a free full speed dialup system for my area,
but I use Cable modem and digital phone service now.
