Install Mozilla Thunderbird and specify T-Bird in OO's options as it
being your mailer......done.

On Windows you don't need to tell OO. Instead, it will use whatever is
registered as the "default mail program" without further intervention. When
youminstall TB it asks if it should become the default mail program ...

There is one problem with Windows with Default Email Packages
EVERY time there is a windows update, I have to go to internet options
and change BACK to my default email package. It seems that MS
has a little routine that runs and resets Outlook as the default email
whenever the windows updates are installed.

Hmmm. I use Win XP Pro and have Thunderbird as my default mail client and Firefox as my default browser. I religiously apply all the Windows updates but have *never* had to reset those defaults. Perhaps because you use Internet Explorer ?????
