Hi: I have been trying to get open office 2.3 installed and when it
is installing, I get an error 1335 and it says openofficeort4.cab is
currupt. I tell it to retry but it just won't install. Then I tell
it to "ignore" and it backs out the whole thing. Can you tell me
what to do. Thanks Doris Shields

This error is generated by your Windows operating system, because it cannot read/open one or more of the files contained in an installer program. It is not exclusive to OOo (OpenOffice.org).

If you downloaded OOo on to your hard disk drive and you are are trying to install it from there, check the MD5SUM of the installer file you downloaded. The details of the MD5SUM and a link to instructions on how to use it can be found here:
http://download.openoffice.org/2.3.1/md5sums.html
If the MD5SUM is wrong the installer file has been corrupted during the download and you will need to download again.

If you are trying to install OOo from a CD, check out the possible solutions suggested by Microsoft when this error occurs during the installation of their Office program:

Hope this helps.
