A client has M$ Office/Word and cannot open my OO Writer .odt docs. How can
I help him?
Thanks.

In order of preference
1. Persuade him to install OpenOffice; it's free and he may even prefer
it to MS Office ;-) They can live happily together with each handling
its own documents.
2. Get him to install the ODF plugin from Sun Microsytems. It enables MS
Office to read/edit/save OpenOffice documents. It's free too from
"http://www.sun.com/software/star/odf_plugin/index.jsp"
3. Save your documents in PDF format which he can read but not edit;
very secure. Use File>Export as PDF to save as PDF or File>Send>E-Mail
as PDF to send directly without saving - you save your version as .odt
but send him a PDF copy.
4. Save your documents in .doc format which he can read and edit; not
very secure. Use File>Save as, and choose MS Word format; make sure the
"Automatic file name extension" box is ticked. Or File>Send>E-Mail as
Microsoft Word, to send directly without saving - you save your version
as .odt but send him a .doc copy.
