Hi

Thanks for these tips - I have tried both of these to no avail. I have also tried my previous version of OO and the problem doesn't occur. I'd be the first to put this all down to Windows oddities but thought, optimistically perhaps, that it might signal something useful to someone else :-) . I guess its just another sign of the vagaries of MS and I'll wait and see if it ever recurs with another file or version of OO.....

Cheers
Roland

Whenever I use the RHS mouse button on the downloaded file OOo_2.4.0_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe (eg to copy or move the file) or generally try to copy or drag this file - I get the following error

"Invalid size or check sum of file or unsupported compression format - Native error: 00008. File processing error, possibly disk is full"

The disk is not full - there is around 60GB of space. The MD5 Checksum verification is OK.

This error only occurs with this file, and does not seem to have affected the installation but I am unsure of whether I should (i) simply ignore it as Windows arcania or (ii) take some action and if so what.

I'd run the disk error checker; if ok, defrag too (as ever :-) ). Then try again.

Although googling returns a number of hits for 'native error 00008', I can't offhand spot a common theme (or cure).
