Hello again,
You are right. I opened the file with an archive manager and there is
definitely some more text in it.

This is an excerpt of what meta.xml contains:
  <meta:generator>OpenOffice.org/1.9.79$Win32
OpenOffice.org_project/680m79$Build-8876$CWS-ooo20beta</meta:generator>
  <meta:creation-date>2006-05-25T09:27:27</meta:creation-date>
  <dc:date>2006-11-14T12:57:35</dc:date>
  <meta:print-date>2006-11-14T12:39:37</meta:print-date>
  <dc:language>it-IT</dc:language>
  <meta:editing-cycles>13</meta:editing-cycles>
  <meta:editing-duration>PT14H57M43S</meta:editing-duration>
...
meta:object-count="0" meta:page-count="1" meta:paragraph-count="18"
meta:word-count="181" meta:character-count="1352" />
  </office:meta>
  </office:document-meta>

So there are 18 paragraphs, 181 words and 1352 characthers.

I guess there may be a way to recover the contents by working on the
contents.xml file, but I wouldn't know how to do it without a painful
copy & paste operation... maybe create another document and replace
the contents.xml of the new file with that of this file?

Cheers,

Michele
