Thanks, I collaborate on documents a lot (I don't know or work with anyone who doesn't use Word) and for years I have watched OOo improve but never actually be good enough for collaboration. The latest version (NeoOffice in my case) finally produced documents that didn't have any glaring problems and I used it for a a full review only then to discover that the author couldn't remove any of the highlights from the highlighted text. he was none too pleased. And I admit, other than checking that I couldn't remove them either, I didn't explore further.
The highlighting, had not been added in OOo by me, but in Word by him. But I couldn't remove in OOo, and when he got the file back, he couldn't remove in Word. Unlike you, at the time, we did not have too much time on our hands and needed to get the document out the door, meaning we did what Lindsey did and deleted the highlighted sections and typed them in again. I shall look into putting in a bug report.
