I am using version 2.4 of OpenOffice.org since I installed it on 04/03/08.
Now, I am not able to view e-mail attachments written in Microsoft Office Power Point. I
get a pop-up window saying as follows: "This file does not have a program associated
with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Set Associations Control
Panel" , which I can't find in the Control Panel! I use Windows VISTA Home Premium.
Q: How can I use OpenOffice.org 2.4 Impress to open the e-mail attachments
written in .pps format?
Thanks, Jorge P. Amador ([EMAIL PROTECTED])
That sort of problem often occurs, if the file does not have a valid
extention. If so, just rename it, to include an extension. Also, what
happens if you save the file and then double click on it? If it opens
that way, then there may be some issue with your email application.
In XP, you can easily change the file associations by following these
instructions. I assume similar applies in Vista.
Changing file associations
Right click on file icon
Select Open With > Choose Program...
Check "Always use the selected program to open this kind of file" and
choose the desired application.
If that method is not available, follow the directions listed here:
