Thanks for the help. I still have the problem. I can select a sentence
with three clicks. I can then delete that sentence. But I still cannot go
back to the previous sentence or to the beginning of selected sentence. In
Word, I select sentence (by F8 three time), then <esc> to turn off extension
mode, then I can left arrow to go to beginning or right arrow to go to next.
I also do not know how to build the three clicks done with a mouse into a
macro. I will try to record my actions and edit the Basic for Writer to see
how it handles that command/language.

OOo BASIC includes methods gotoNextSentence, gotoPreviousSentence,
gotoNextParagraph, gotoPreviousParagraph, gotoEndOfParagraph and
gotoStartOfParagraph. A document describing them is at
"http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/BASIC_Guide/Editing_Text_Documents".
I'm sure there are other documents and, possibly, working examples.
I have never played in this field so I can't say much more but I hope
this helps.
