Hi

Welcome to OpenOffice.org-world

It seems that you don´t have installed the software...

Double-click the OpenOffice icon, then follow the wizard to install the software on your computer... ( I don´t know what OS you have on your computer)

After that the installation is finished, you should see the program under the Startbutton, All Programs, and voila... there should be a folder named OpenOffce.org 2.4 (asuming your running a WIN-machine). Now you can run Writer (it´s like MS Word), Calc (it´s like MS Excel) or Impress (it´s like MS Powerpoint).

You don´t have to feel sorry for beeing an old dinosaur... the T-rex was a pretty impressing one..... ;-)

Best regards

OpenOffice was recommended to me as a fine download to help me in preparing
business letters.

I have completed the free download and now have the OpenOffice icon on my
monitor screen. When I double-click on the icon, a lot of data pops up. But I
don't know where to go from there to bring up a format that will let me compose
letters.

Hoping you can give this old dinosaur some guidance.

Thanks
