* A Problem in Ctreating Simple Forms Within a Writer Document * I did not create forms before. So I read: OpenOffice.org Writer Guide [0200WG-WriterGuide.pdf] Publication date and software version Third edition. Published 10 February 2007. Based on OpenOffice.org 2.1. Chapter 15 Using Forms in Writer (pp.373-396) Example: a simple form (pp.383-385) I am using OpenOffice.org 2.4 (OxygenOffice Professional 2.4) for Windows XP Professional. I followed the instruction in Example: a simple form (pp.383-385): 1. Name: 2. Sex: 3. Favorite shape : 4. All shapes you like: I found out that #1, #2 and #4: They are working, as in the guide. #3: The List Box is working only to the extent of having a box and a scroll bar, but not working in that it has no lists. I reread the instruction. Configure form controls (p.385) says: No further configuration is required to the Name and Sex fields (though, of course, there is configuration that could be done if you wanted, such as giving a name to each control and changing the appearance of the controls). The list box must be configured to add the list of options. The check boxes must be configured to add in the names (instead of Check Box, Check Box1...) 1) . . . * 2) In the List Entries box, enter the names of the shapes: Circle, Triangle, Square and Pentagon. Type in one shape and press Enter. Then position the cursor at the end of the line to type in the next shape. You should end up with a line saying "Circle";"Triangle";"Square";"Pentagon". * 3) . . . 4) . . . 5) . . . 6) . . . 7) . . . I found out that in 2) above, I need to use *press Shift+Enter, *instead of* press Enter. * So the instruction should readas follows: * 2) In the List Entries box, enter the names of the shapes: Circle, Triangle, Square and Pentagon. Type in one shape and press Shift+Enter. Then position the cursor at the end of the line to type in the next shape. You should end up with a line saying "Circle";"Triangle";"Square";"Pentagon". * * My problem is: even when I am successful in using press Shift+Enter (instead of press Enter), the list does not show on the document. ** My question is: How can I create a form for lists in Writer? * =====
