You are correct; it is a bug: http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=87325 It also exists in OOo3.0dev. Hopefully it will be fixed for 2.4.1 which is currently scheduled for June 3rd 2008. In the interim, you'll need to back down to 2.3.1.
