This error code up when I try to to download Open Office. C:\Documents and Settings\owner\Desktop\00o_2.4.0_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en_us.exe is not a valid Win32 application. Do you know to fix this I'm a Window XP user?

The cause of this frequently seen problem is *probably* that your Antivirus (AV) software thinks the file is malware. The first thing to try is the 5-step process below. 1. Disconnect your computer completely from the internet - pull the router/modem plug from the phone socket.
2. Disable your AV software
3. Run the program you mention. You won't be able to register as you don't have an internet connection; just say "register later".
4. Enable your AV software
5. Connect to the internet; never leave your system connected to the net if your AV software is not running properly.

If this doesn't help, it may be that the file you downloaded is incomplete/corrupt. You can check this by following the steps described under "Instructions for using md5sums" at <http://download.openoffice.org/2.4.0/md5sums.html>. If the md5sum you calculate doesn't match the one given for your file then that file is incomplete or corrupt and you should download a fresh copy.

If you still have no joy, come back here with details of what you did and the results you got.
