Hi, I posted a very similar quest awhile back and got no responses so am trying once more.
XP Pro SP2+; OOo 2.4, English language, U.S. Imtermittantly, the left alignment of text jumps to right-aligned. In other words, all the text lines up on the right hand side of the document instead of the left side as expected. It's easy enough to fix; just click the left-align menu item to put things back, but it gets to be quite an annoyance. Is this a recognized issue with OOo 2.4, or could it somehow be somthing I've done with the settings? Description: It happens mostly when using the Delete key. e.g., take a document where each line ends with a paragraph mark. The usual "fix" is to remove the paragraph mark at the end of all but the last line of the paragraph. Added to that, you also have to add a space so that the words on either side remain separated by a space. So, going through the document and typing Delete|space or space"Delete is the manual method of doing this. Every now and then, typing the Delete and space entry results in the alignment going to right-align. It doesn't happen with every line, usually only once per several line paragraph, and very occasionally it doesn't happen at all. It almost always happens at least once per paragraph though where suddenly the so-far modified paragraph lines jump to become right-aligned. Initially I had used a macro to accomplish this, as I used do in Word. A new macro, freshly written in OOo. But I ended up with a pretty strange looking document with the right alignment all over the place, so turned to manually editing to figure out what was happening. It never seems to happen when the space|delete is done on a short line. It seems to always be when the cursor is near the far right side of the display. Has anyone else come across anything like this, or know whether it's a recognized/submitted bug? I'm not jumping to report it just in case it's something I've done to the setup or no one else is seeing hte problem. Any comments/questions/clarifications gladly responded to. I could probably create before/after screen shots/file that displays the issue, if it'd help anyone but if I've made myself understood I don't think it's necessary. It should be easy to duplicate by most any editor that places cr/lf at the end of each line.
