1) You did not have to purchase OpenOffice. It's a free download from
www.openoffice.org.
2) Please describe what steps you're taking and what happens. For
example, when you download OpenOffice, you simply double click on the
downloaded file to start the installation process. After that
completes, there should be an OpenOffice folder and icons in your Start
menu. Do you see those? Are you getting any error messages?
