I am typing a long letter and note that there is an annoying lag between my
keystrokes and the characters appearing on the screen. It is like what one
experiences when one's antivirus is scanning the hard disk while one is
trying to work, but I checked my AV and it is definitely not scanning
(besides, the scan is scheduled to run many hours from now).
I am using OOo 2.4 running under Windows XP SP2.
I went into Windows Task Manager to see what was competing for CPU time and
found that soffice.bin was intermittently using up to 70% of the CPU
resources, even when I was no typing or doing anything other than having a
text document open.
Can anyone explain why OOo would be hogging the computer resources like
this?
