Thanks to those of you who have replied to me. Just to let you know i have been able to download version 2.4 now. I used the same link as i had used the first time but it worked the second time so i'm not sure what the problem was the first time. Thanks, Tom

There are a couple of causes for your problem. One is an incomplete or corrupt download. You can verify this with the md5sums, as described here: http://download.openoffice.org/2.4.0/md5sums.html Also, on Windows, a common cause is some anti-virus software interfering with the download.
