Leopard's X11 is much newer than X11 in Tiger and earlier; it is
also a work-in-progress, and causes annoyances like this. For now,
just ignore it. Have you gotten the Xquartz update? the location of
that is in the second section here: http://homepage.mac.com/sao1/X11/
index.html . There's also some other interesting reading there.
Also, is there that X11 can run in the background without appearing
with
OpenOffice?
Not easily. I wouldn't recommend it unless you consider yourself a
'power user'. In that case, go to the web page listed above and
check out the "Working without launchd" section.
