[users] numbers error

In a documents in the Hebrew language instead having a normal 1234567890 one 
will get the Arabic numbers!!!
Hebrew numeric is like in English not like in Arabic.
this error is is taking a lot of time to be fixed and some friend I know {and 
myself} are starting to think about dropping the use in open office by now.
will there be a fix to this error any time soon?
