To delete a document, navigate to it through your operating system.
(Find the folder that it is in, for example "My Documents" or a
subfolder that you may have created.) Click once on the document, and
press the Delete key.
You can also delete a document through the File > Open path within
OpenOffice. Select File > Open, navigate to the document you want to
delete, and press the Delete key.
