Hello Kathy, It's not entirely clear to me what you describe... Did opening the attachment cause the installation of OpenOffice.org on your Mac? Or did clicking on the attachment cause OOo (already on your computer) to open and make the file in attachment appear on your screen? Anyway... different options. When you use the combination Alt-Apple-Escape (Forced Stop), you get a list op programs that are open at this time on your Mac. Does X11 or OpenOffice.org or Droplet appear among them? Does it say 'program not responding'? • You can force stop OOo if it's not responding. • Or you can simply close or force stop the X11 windowing program. It will probably ask you if you really want to close it, since it will also close OOo and the work you have done in any program that depends on X11 will be lost. You must now be able to close your Mac, or 'switch to Windows' whatever you mean by that...
