Thanks, but that is not what I want. Did you miss the exchange later in the thread, a few days ago? - Mike Scott made the same suggestion (make a template), to which I responded that my concern is to simply change the default column width for the current spreadsheet - a simple formatting task in other spreadsheet managers. A template is for future jobs.
