Hello Peter, This tutorial generally helps solving spelling problems: http://user.services.openoffice.org/en/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=67 Somewhere in th etext you want to spell, you go to Format>Character>Font See whether Swiss German is in the language box, and whether it has a check/tick mark next to it. If the v sign is missing, the appropriate dictionary isn't installed. Install with the DicOOo macro (File>Assistants>Install Dico from the net).
