Hi! I am a new user and I sent my prof my midterm and he can't open it! Is
there something he can download or what kind of converter does he need to be
able to download my documents? Or do I need to save it differently?

By default, OpenOffice saves in the ISO standard ODF formats, which Microsoft refuses to support. You'll have to select Word format, when you use save as and also ensure automatic file name extension is selected. A PDF might also be suitable. If the prof is willing, he can also install the Sun ODF plugin, which adds ODF support to Microsoft Office. Of course the best solution is for him to install OpenOffice.
