What type of embedded video? Impress seems to have problems with some mpeg and mp3 files. For Impress to run the video(s), you may have to break out the video as a separate file and add the video to the Impress Gallery. If you can provide some additional details (embeded video type, is the PowerPoint a PPS or PPT) then it may be possible to get Impress to run the video.
