Be sure to disconnect your computer entirely from the internet before you turn 
your antivirus program off.  Do a hard disconnect, not a soft one.  In other 
words, actually **unplug** your computer from your modem or router.  

Follow Henri's advice, and then reconnect your computer to the modem or router 
after you have re-activated your antivirus program.
