Since I had my pc repaired, my Open Office disappeared.

When I try to dowload, you tell me ERROR 2908.

Why? Maybe the "expert" that supposedly fixed my pc introduced some kind
of virus.

And yet I get John MaCreesh's emails. Strange, isn't it?

I would appreciate your help.

Jose luis, if I understand the matter aright, Error 2908 deals not with a
failure in downloading a package to a Windows machine, but rather one in
installing it. If that is the case, the problem may be that the person who
repaired your machine (by the way, what Windows version are you running ?)
added an antivirus programme (which, with a Windows machine you definitely
require !), which is blocking installation. If you have, in fact,
successfully downloaded the OOo installation file to your hard disc, you
might want to consider doing the following :

1) *Temporarily* disabling your antivirus programme.
2) Navigating to the place on your hard disc where the OOo installation file
(for example, OOo_2.4.0_Win32Intel_install_wJRE_en-US.exe) is stored.
3) Double-clicking on this .exe file, which should start the installation
process.
4) Re-activating your antivirus programme. (This is important, as otherwise
you are sure to pick up a virus or two in the space of a few minutes.)

If, however, you have *not* succeeded in downloading a copy of the .exe
file, it may be the case that your firewall is blocking the download.
Generally speaking, a firewall will notify you when it discovers that you
are trying to download a file and ask you if you really want to do so, at
which point you can click to download the file if you wish to do so. If you
can't get this to work, you might consider *temporarily* blocking the
firewall, downloading the OOo .exe file, and then re-enabling the firewall.
Perhaps you might also want to consider consulting the person who repaired
your computer about these difficulties....

Jose Luis: You have configured your mail program incorrectly so that it looks like your "from" address is "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" instead of "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". If you continue with this you will never see replies to your messages.
