How can I change the size of a field after I've created it?
Are we talking database fields here?
o Select the relevant table and go to Edit | Edit... (or
right-click | Edit). This opens the Table Design window.
o Select the relevant field.
o If necessary, select the field type and use the drop-down menu
to choose a new type.
o If necessary, modify the parameters in the Field Properties area
at the bottom.
o Save the changes.
Sorry, yes, in Base.
After creating a table, I cannot go back and edit a field. Base
will not allow me to do that. They are all greyed out.
We are dangerously close to the limit of my knowledge of databases
here: indeed, we may have passed it! But I have one further
suggestion. Is this table an actual table in Base, or did you open a
connection to another document - perhaps an existing database or
spreadsheet, for example? If it is the latter, I think you will see
the effect you are describing. You may need to copy the data into a
new database instead of creating such a connection, I think.
Or you may need a database expert ...
I trust this helps.
