If you haven't already, I suggest you try it with a few pages of 
goobleygook as a plain OOo document kept well away from word. See if 
it works then. Pure hunch, mind you; just wondering about formatting 
pasted in with the text (maybe try 'paste special => unformatted 
text'??)

If you want, I could mail you a document I /know/ will print 
correctly here as a brochure under 2.4.1, then you could try that 
with your v3 copy.
