Hi
I saw that Lotus Symphony has a version which can be installed on Ubuntu, I
was wondering how does it compare with OpenOffice when it come to writing
articles and text documents.
Which one is more close to Microsoft Office 2007 or 2003?
Last I checked it supported ODF, and the basic MS Office formats but not
OOXML (docx etc). The core of Symphony is based on OpenOffice.org 1.1.4.
Symphony is not open sourced (it's released under a proprietary
license), although it is available for no charge.
The user interface is different that what you get in OpenOffice.org...
What do you mean which is more close to MS Office 2007 or 2003? Lotus
Symphony has a different UI than OpenOffice.org... and both are
different than MS Office.
A review comparing OpenOffice.org and Symphony:
