Office Small Business 2007 $449.95/$279.95
Office Professional 2007 $499.95/$329.95
Office Ultimate 2007 $679.95/$539.95

And yes, I'm aware that you can buy for less, however these are the
"official" MS estimated retail prices.

Well, I would say that $449.95 would would be a “few” hundred dollars, not “several” hundred dollars.

I could be wrong. Some dictionaries say that “several” means more than “two” or “three”. But they also say it means more than “few”, which some dictionaries say means “more than two”.

So yes, if in your idiolect “several” means about 5, then I freely admit the statement was correct.

In my idiolect, in the domain of actual numbers, “few” usually means “fivish” (actually probably a quantity more than a “couple” and less than “seven”) while “several” usually means “sevenish” (possibly somewhere between “six” and “ten” inclusive). I am quite aware that there is no etymological connections between “few” and “five” or between “several” and “seven” and have looked on the apparent agreement between these forms as an interesting coincidence.

So what seemed to me to be a needless exageration of the cost of Microsoft Office almost certainly wasn’t.
