I'm running the RPM version of OOo V2.3.0 on Fedora 8 (yum update'd as
of this morning). The problem has existed for quite some time but has
only recently become annoying enough for me to ask the question. I
*think* the problem started with the upgrade from 2.2 to 2.3, but I'm
not 100% sure.
I can't print from OOo calc (don't know about other OOo apps since I
don't use them.).
I can print the test page from system-config-printer.
I can print the test page from spadmin.
I can print from every other application that I've tried on the system
(sylpheed, enscript, evince, lp xxx).
I can't print from calc. Symptom - no error messages appear on the
screen, but nothing ends up at the printer.
I'd welcome ideas on where to look to try to identify and resolve the
problem (at the moment, upgrading to 2.4 isn't a terribly viable
option).
Try the page preview. Does that show anything? If not, you may have
defined an empty print range.

Yep, "stuff" is there in page preview. And yes, I've been exporting to
PDF and printing it using evince, but that's a pain...
Things have gotten even weirder as I do a little more experimenting.
This particular calc file has 2 or more sheets. The first sheet, if I
were to print it, takes 2 pieces of paper. I don't ever want to print
that worksheet. I typically only want to print the second sheet (even if
there are more than 2). So I select print, then select the "range" option
(which is pages, not sheets) and enter 3 in the box next to range.
Nothing happens. I also tried with a 2 instead of 3 in the event that
some mis-typed "page" when they meant sheet, but again nothing came out of
the printer.
HOWEVER... I just made a copy of the calc file, deleted all but the first
2 sheets, and did a print and chose the "all" radio box. The printer
started whirring and (anyone care to guess what came out?) the 2nd
worksheet printed, but not the first.
So, I tried the following... select the second sheet, print, choose the
"current" radio button and nothing came out of the printer...
It seems like you have some problems with the print ranges.
Go to each work sheet and select
Format > Print Ranges > Remove (if available)
Then do a page preview again and see what it shows.
If you just want to print out the 2nd worksheet, go to that sheet
and then select "Print selected sheets" in the print dialog.
