Ok, the current behavior:
1. X11 now starts up nicely, as needed.
I can even run "xlsclients", and the X server will start up. All good.
2. If I click on the OOo 2.4 launcher, then I get an xterm window. A
few seconds later, I get "Command timed out" and an OK button.
Dismissing that starts a script that launches soffice.bin.
That never connects to the X server according to xlsclients. It never
displays a window. Closing the X server does close the xterms, but
leaves soffice.bin running.
Any ideas how I go about debugging this?
