I cannot reproduce your problem. I am using OOo 2.4.0 on Win XP pro/SP2. I created a new text document (Writer). I did Insert>Field>Author followed, two lines down, by Insert>Field>Date. I then did Save As and saved the document in MS office format (.doc). When I opened that document, in Writer, nothaing had changed. I do not have MS office installed so I cannot test anything using it. Please explain *exactly* what you did to achieve the effect you are complaining about; please also say exactly which version of which Operating System you are using. -- Harold Fuchs London, England Please reply *only* to [email protected]
